Artists often find themselves at an impasse, faced with a host of confusing choices and lacking direction about what to do next. Those seeking a career in art or those that simply want art to be more active in their lives can be limited by a lack of information in regard to real options and opportunities that exist for their creative aspirations. Participants in “ArtThrive” will learn effective practices and methodology for dealing with the oft tricky relationship between business and art. We will also explore ways to keep artistic passion alive and thriving; today, tomorrow & beyond. This program is part workshop, part seminar and part self-assessment – look, see, understand and then do.
Topics covered will include: Marketing, portfolio development, artist statements, gallery representation, work habits/discipline, effective studio design, long/short term goal setting and various ways in which to simply keep the artist spirit motivated and productive…….
Making art has value far beyond sales and notoriety. Art is important and those blessed with such a passion must seeks ways to keep it a priority. Note: this is a very interactive non-lecture based program focused on the visual arts. It applies to all artists; be they part/full time, vocational, avocational, emerging, mid-career or in a transition toward greatness.

“Artstorming”
Creativity Workshop for Artists
 
Are you a fountain of ideas and motivation? Is your art growing and perpetually evolving to higher levels? Are you overwhelmed with exhibition opportunities? All artists have periods of feeling uninspired or being in a rut-rut-rut. “Artstorming” will explore techniques and methods for keeping one’s art fresh and growing. Through the use of various exercises, activities and projects participants will discover their patterns and comforts zones. Can creativity be learned? Everyone is creative. The issue is one of access and process. The power of creativity can best be found and used by following a few simple steps. Along with learning these principles, participants will look at their own work with new eyes. This is a very hands-on action packed workshop offered in an atmosphere of experimentation, innovation and most of all inspirational fun.
When: Thursday February 17 (6-9pm) and Saturday February 19 (10am – 5pm)
