The Modbo is delighted to present another fun summer evening of music this Thursday, July 15th, 2010.  Join us for Dear Rabbit, Quick to the Forest, and 6 Gun Sing Along.  Doors open at 8, show is at 9, and we ask for a mere $3-5 donation!  More info available by emailing themodbo@gmail.com or calling 633-4240 or visiting http://www.themodbo.com .
If in 2007 you attended the Newspeak pie-throwing fundraiser or paid any attention to CultureCast, you probably remember Be Thou My Vision (aka ‘punk rock gods,’ aka ‘the pachisi champion’).

BTMV was a band (often a two-piece) started in 2007 by Kenneth and Rence, who played many memorable shows in the Pikes Peak region over the course of 2 years.  In 2008, BTMV got nominated for best band by the Pikes Peak Arts Council.  However, just a year ago, Kenneth moved back to his hometown in Florida and encouraged Rence to start his own band.

Rence, who had almost no previous singing or songwriting experience, began writing and performing numerous shows in the Colorado Springs and Denver area.  Now known as Dear Rabbit, Rence (vocals, accordion, cornet) will be performing at The Modbo on Thursday, August 15.  Among those joining Rence on stage will be Shawn Stafford (Against Tomorrow’s Sky)  on percussion and Brian Arnot (Fag Team) on clarinet and guitar.

We have a special treat for the true BTMV fans, as Kenneth will also be back in town singing his new songs as Quick to the Forest this night, and Rence will be backing him up on cornet and fuzz bass, just like the old times!

John Hyde (Munster Boogie) will open up the night performing as 6 Gun Sing Along.

Don’t miss this special lineup!
