    A Call for Artists: it’s the Tenth Annual Small Works Exhibition!

    The Modbo is delighted to announce a Call for Artists for its wildly popular annual Small Works Show 10, the original Colorado Springs small works exhibition! Intake is at The Modbo and SPQR, 17B and 17C East Bijou, from 10 am until 3 pm on Saturday, November 18th, 2017. All works must be under 24 inches in every dimension, including the frame. There will be a $4 hanging fee per each piece that is accepted (after a light jurying process). All pieces must be wired and ready to hang with two screw eyes or two D-rings on the back. The show will open on Friday, December 1st, 2017 in both The Modbo and its adjoining gallery, S.P.Q.R., and will run through January 5th.

    Off the Skin: November’s First Friday at The Modbo

    The Modbo present’s November’s First Friday on November 3rd, 2017 with “Off the Skin,” a show of art by tattoo artists from Heebee Jeebees, Nostalgia Tattoo, To The Grave, and West Side Tattoo.  First Friday’s reception happens from 5 pm til midnight, with live music by local hip-hop group BullHead*ded at 9:30 pm, and the show remains up through Friday, November 17th. Don’t miss this dynamic show full of art by some very talented local artists– whether they are working on the skin or off! The Modbo is located in the Arts Alley in downtown Colorado Springs at 17C E. Bijou.  Street parking is available, but The Modbo recommends the lot on Cascade just north of Bijou, which is only a $1 after 3 pm.     The Modbo presents October’s First Friday on October 6th, 2017 with Young Hot Sh*ts, a show featuring work by young artists aged 17-25. First Friday’s reception happens from 5 pm til midnight, and the show remains up through Friday, October 27th. In an ongoing effort to foster and promote the careers and aspirations of young artists, this show features work in a wide range of sizes and media, all created by local youngsters. Don’t miss your chance to see the next wave of up-and-coming talent in Colorado Springs! The Modbo is located in the Arts Alley in downtown Colorado Springs at 17C E. Bijou.
