The Modbo is delighted to host its popular open mic poetry night every last Friday of the month. This month, our featured poet is Philip J. Curtis. Originally from New York, Curtis relocated to Colorado Springs with the intent of mixing the artistic cultures of both cities. He introduced himself to the Pikes Peak region by creating luvsaverb.com, which features his own work as well as the work of other artists– everything from written works and spoken word to original vocals. Curtis has hosted open mic nights at various city locations. His poetry delves not just into the art of the word, but also into the intent. Curtis strives to integrate discussion topics on hot, current events into a format such that the audience can communicate, opinionate, involve, share, and agree to disagree. He recently released his first cd entitled “What’s It All For?”
